I’m back. Kind of.
Two years almost and I’m finally coming back. It’s been a rough two years, to say the least. A quick summary:
- My mom was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2019.
- The pandemic hit in March 2020.
- My husband lost his job in May 2020 and it took almost a year and a half for him to find a new one.
- Lost my uncle to cancer in May 2020 and had to celebrate his life socially distanced from my family.
- We got married with just our families present on the deck of my family cottage in June 2020.
- We rescheduled our big wedding for October 2020.
- We canceled our big wedding for October 2020.
- We tackled all the home renovations we could feasibly handle – and I promise I’ll try to do posts about them all.
- We got our vaccinations in March 2021/April 2021!
- Decided that with the vaccine rollout, we rescheduled our big wedding for June 2021.
- We started doing all the wedding planning and that’s worth its own post in time as well.
- We had our big wedding in June 2021 and it was lovely.
- Husband found a new job in November 2021!
- We got boosted!
- Lost my mom to cancer in January 2022.
- Found out we were expecting our first child shortly after. A little girl, due in September.
- Baby girl is growing perfectly.
- Watched Roe V Wade be overturned and busted out my protest signs.
- Lost my beloved 97-year-old Grandpa.
And that brings us all up to speed. It’s been an eventful 2+ years and every time I’ve thought about resurrecting this blog, I just haven’t had the energy. I’m still struggling to find energy but I have a few thoughts on what I want this to be and maybe we might make some tweaks here and there. Stay tuned.
